Gold Dots
Hi, I’m Laura

One of the first things people notice about me is my energy. I am positive and supportive…and I love to laugh. I’m also easy-going – I won’t make you feel pressured, and I’m never going to give you an intense sales pitch.

This is my journey…

Before becoming a holistic nutritionist, I was an HR executive advising the C-suite on wellness initiatives, corporate culture, workforce management – all the people things that make a company successful.

I initiated a lot of uncomfortable conversations. Thousands of them. Really. Harassment, performance expectations, inappropriate work behaviour, firings…you name it, I addressed it. Head on but with sensitivity.

Along the way, I became an expert at identifying high performers and coaching them to the next level. While I was good at the reactive functions, I thrived in the proactive.

And while I coached employees to step up to the next level, I also watched many high performance and high potential leaders around me struggling with the same issues – lack of focus, poor sleep, inflammation, gut problems, muscle aches. All signs of stress and burnout.

I needed to do something about it – that’s the way I tick. I created workplace wellness programs that focused on building the foundations for health. Meditation, nutrition, sleep, stress, mindfulness.

The results were remarkable – employees became more engaged and energized. Productivity rose. Leaders collaborated and made better decisions. Performance was up across the board, and the morale of the company changed.

I was at a high point.

But I still felt something was missing. And I realized…I was working with programs not people. And I love working with people.

As a naturally curious person who loves to learn and grow, I dug deeper into nutrition to gain a better understanding of the root causes of illness, stress, and burnout, as well as pathways to better health.

I had been chipping away at nutrition courses, fitting coursework in on nights, weekends, and vacation days. That’s where I found my true love. (Well, apart from my husband and 2 boys, of course! Yes, I love you, too.)

The time ticked by. I advanced closer to my Certified Nutritional Practitioner designation. I had a successful career, a healthy family, and was deeply engaged in my studies – learning, growing, thriving as I dug deeper into how the body works.

But suddenly, my 40th birthday was looming. I was on the podium presenting to a room of CEOs when it struck me so clearly – I was good at this, but LOVED my nutrition studies.

It was time for change.

I quit my corporate job 6 months before my birthday and went all in on nutrition. I had been informally coaching friends and family for a few years. I loved working personally with clients, sharing their highs and lows, and watching as their health – and lives – improved.

Fascinated with both gut health and women’s health, I continued to study, becoming certified for DUTCH test interpretation (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones).  I delved deeper into the connections between nutrition, the gut, stress and illness, then became certified in GI Mapping (stool testing and gut health).

I’ve never looked back.

Today I find my joy by helping others change their lives. I tackle the root causes of stress and burnout, and help my clients build healthier habits that help them fully experience their joy, too.

The time ticked by as I inched closer to my Certified Nutritional Practitioner designation. I had a successful career, a healthy family, and was deeply engaged in my studies. But suddenly, my 40th birthday was looming. I was on the podium presenting to a room of old white men when it struck me so clearly – I was not living my purpose, and it was time to change.

I quit my corporate job 6 months before my birthday and went all in on nutrition. I had been informally coaching friends and family for a few years. I loved working personally with clients, sharing their highs and lows, and watching as their health – and lives – improved.

While climbing the corporate ladder as an HR expert focusing on wellness, I worked with so many colleagues suffering the impacts of stress and burnout. Time and time again, I saw that the best performers had one thing in common: resiliency. I realized that the secret to success was rooted in building a stronger foundation of healthy habits.

Stress won’t magically disappear, so how can you manage it, reduce its impact, and build a stronger body and mind? It’s about understanding your body’s wants and needs, then building better habits that will nourish your health for a lifetime.
